Development Day

Connecting, learning and developing the future of Portage

The National Portage Association Annual Development Day is a key event in the Portage calendar, bringing together Portage practitioners, service managers, trainers and other professionals working in Portage and early years to share knowledge, ideas and good practice.

The Development Day provides a valuable opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of Portage practice and focus on learning, professional development and connection. Each year, the programme brings together inspiring speakers, informative sessions and opportunities to explore current issues and developments affecting Portage and the wider early years and SEND sector.

Throughout the day, delegates can:

  • Learn from experienced speakers and professionals through engaging keynote presentations and workshops.
  • Develop their practice and knowledge by exploring relevant topics, new approaches and current developments.
  • Share experiences and good practice with colleagues from Portage Services across the country.
  • Build professional networks and make connections with others who share a passion for Portage.
  • Reflect on their own practice and take away practical ideas and resources to use within their service.
  • Stay connected with the NPA and the wider Portage community.

The Development Day is designed to be both informative and inspiring, recognising the important role Portage practitioners play in supporting young children with SEND and their families.

Whether you are an experienced Portage practitioner, a service manager, an NPA Accredited Trainer or new to Portage, the Annual Development Day provides a welcoming space to learn, connect, share and grow together.

We look forward to welcoming the Portage community each year for a day of professional development, collaboration and celebration of the work of Portage Services across England and Wales.
